The peace is short-lived. A pair of bumbling "tech-thieves," Sergejs and Viktors, have been scouting the lodge. They believe the house contains a prototype for a new renewable energy battery. They plan to break in during the height of a predicted "once-in-a-decade" blizzard, thinking the storm will mask their entry.

In a final attempt to climb through a second-story window, they are met by Artūrs’ masterpiece: a zip-line escape system that accidentally snags the thieves’ coats, hoisting them up into the pine trees like oversized Christmas ornaments just as the local forest rangers arrive. Viens pats mДЃjДЃs 3

As the blizzard howls, Sergejs and Viktors attempt their heist. They spend the night slipping on solar panels, getting pelted by high-velocity frozen Riga Black Balsam truffles (Artūrs ran out of snowballs), and being chased by a "ghost" created by the home’s holographic projector. Artūrs’ family returns two days later, frantic and apologetic, only to find him calmly drinking herbal tea by the fireplace.
