There's No Disgrace Like Homethe Simpsons : Sea... ⏰

Desperate for a fix, Homer pawns the family television for $250 to enroll everyone in Dr. Marvin Monroe’s Family Therapy Center. When standard methods like drawing pictures and using padded mallets fail, Dr. Monroe resorts to extreme shock therapy. The Simpsons end up shocking each other so relentlessly that they cause a city-wide brownout. Dr. Monroe eventually gives up, refunding them double their money ($500) just to get them to leave. The episode ends with the family happily using the windfall to buy a new, better TV.

After being humiliated by his family's unruly behavior at Mr. Burns’ company picnic, Homer becomes obsessed with making them "normal". He observes seemingly perfect families in the neighborhood and becomes convinced that his own family is a group of "losers". There's No Disgrace Like HomeThe Simpsons : Sea...

is the fourth episode of The Simpsons' first season, originally airing on January 28, 1990. It is a foundational but "weird" entry where many characters act differently than their later, more established personas. Plot Summary Desperate for a fix, Homer pawns the family
