This paper provides an overview of the current state of research on the topic, exploring the effects of mature content on adult consumers. We examine the potential benefits and drawbacks of engaging with mature media, including its impact on emotional intelligence, empathy, and social connections. We also discuss the implications of our findings for media creators, policymakers, and consumers.
