The story follows (Kristen Dalton), a materialistic store owner who inherits her family's business. When a shipping error results in the store receiving 60,000 extra Christmas lights , Diane launches a high-stakes neighborhood decorating competition to clear the inventory. While the contest brings financial success to the store, it also causes significant unrest and intense rivalry among the local residents. Through the influence of her employee, Lou Boyd (Robert Moloney), Diane eventually learns to look past the profits and rediscover the holiday's deeper meaning.
